Krishna & the World

Krishna: A very interesting figurehead of Indian Dharmic Religion, is one of the “people” or “God” I follow in form of “Shree Nath Ji”.

Shri MahaPrabhuji - ShriNathJi and Shri Yamuna MaharaniJI

Well, Krishna seems to be the only being well noted in pretty much all major religions. In general Santan Dharma, Krishna is ” an avatar or living image of Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe”. For Krishanism, Krishna is “Swayam Bhagwan – or the ultimate Supreme Being”.

In Jainism, Krishna is one of the triads included in Shalkapurshas. Also Krishna is identified as a cousin of Neminath, the twenty-second Tirthankar.

In Buddhism, Krishna is known by several other names like Vasudeva, Kanha and Keshava. In Ghatapandita Jataka Krishna is identified as a prince and legendary conqueror and king of India.

Baha’i Faith, believes that Krishna was “Manifestation of God”, and enjoys an exalted station with Buddha, Zoroaster, the Bab and Bahaulla (the founder of Baha’i faith).

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said in a lecture at Sialkot that:

“Let it be clear that Raja Krishna, according to what has been revealed to me, was such a truly great man that it is hard to find his like among the Rishis and Avatars of the Hindus. He was an Avatar—i.e., Prophet—of his time upon whom the Holy Spirit would descend from God. He was from God, victorious and prosperous. He cleansed the land of the Aryas from sin and was in fact the Prophet of his age whose teaching was later corrupted in numerous ways. He was full of love for God, a friend of virtue and an enemy of evil.”

Many Christians believe that Krishna and Jesus of Nazerath shares similar life and destiny.

But for me, Krishna is a true Avatar of God. Why so? Well, for me Krishna is a “person” who managed to live everyday of His life. The concepts of Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, etc are very beautiful work of art.

The above is something that has impressed me so much that, let me quote something here from Bhagvat Geeta:

“To action alone hast thou a right and never at all to its fruits; let not the fruits of action be thy motive; neither let there be in thee any attachment to inaction” (2.47)

Only a person which has very broad mind and tremendous power of thinking can deliver such a line.  Truley, Krishna is a beautiful part of Human History and will keep dominating factors of many lives.

Like Ralph Waldo Emerson, I too believe that Bhagvat Gita is an “empire of thought”, and “in its philosophical teachings Krishna has all the attributes of the full-fledged monotheistic deity and at the same time the attributes of the Upanisadic absolute”.

Long Live Emperor of Gods: Shri Krishna.

    • Dear Rajesh,

Thank you. Also, I wont delete the comments on my blog unlike you did on your blog.
[Sorry the blog does not support any Indian Languages so it all comes up as ?????? marks ]

If sati Gandhari was right, or if what Krishna did was wrong and if the Christian God didnt like it, he (or she) could have stopped it, with their powers. Why be so worried? See that passion doesn’t become obsession.

Well I take Krishna, Jesus, etc as saints or avatars in a concept and not as a follower of religion. Yes he was Manav as he was one of the Manavatars.. But more so, when you say Daanav – do you know that Daanav is not equivalent to Satan in Biblical terms. It is just another community with a different ethnicity.

All I am representing is that this guy has been mentioned in many faiths (even the ones dating before the birth of Christ). I do not follow any religion as I am not too desperate for Heavens or not too scared of Hell (I just dont believe in them).

Like I do not believe Jesus was born of a Virgin (the Hebrew word used in the Old Testament is Almah – which means a young girl but not necessarily Virgin) , and I showed you about 1000 inconsistencies in Bible in your blog, not to pin it down or for religious reason, I just believe that these guys were simply Saints or Avatars or Prophets. Look beyond Heaven and Hell and you shall see what I mean. If there was something like – Wrong – then the God the ultimate powerful would never let that happen. He (or She) would have Killed the Satan long back, like it says in the Old Testament.

My Passion is not find faults in Jesus, Krishna or Mohammed – my passion is to understand simply what they did. That is why even on your blog I do not proclaim anything on Jesus but may only seem alergic to the any binded Religion.

People lived and people died even before Christ and they do the same after Christ.

All I have done here is put in examples of who thinks what, show me another Prophet or God that receive acknowledgement in so many scriptures written by different saints. My view point is Jesus, Krishna, Mohammed, Gautama Buddha were all Buddhas (the awakened ones), and we should all respect them for that – all of them. Like you respect Newton and APJ Kalam as scientist – equally regardless of their beleif, you must accept all of them as Prophets or none of them as one… just take them all as Saints or Buddhas (the awakened ones).

See these MEN with your eyes and not with Religious or Catholic Church Glasses – atleast for 1 second. WARNING: You might be surprised….
