Obama: Is he a socialist?

Listening to Bill O’Reilly on FOX News (Yes I live in Britain, but still watch his show – although I see it as an utter waste of my time) I find that many Republicans brand Obama’s Healthcare bill as more of a Socialist / Communist proposal.
Now readers of my Blog know that I am anti-Communism and not-pro-Socialism.
I just went through the points of the Healthcare bill and it doesnt sound in anyway to be either Socialist Agenda and nowhere near Communism.
I would rather brand it as an extended-democracy. No “decent” country or “decent” human being would want other (anyone) to suffer of any disease or illness without being able to afford medication and proper treatment. Enabling people to buy better healthcare (or just healthcare) in an era when countries are spending billions and trillions in saving blood-sucking banks and corporation is only a good deed and one that does make sense.
Given choice I am sure Bill O’Reilly and people at Fox, would like to give monies in to Healthcare Reforms than to another Bank who might end up betting our monies at the Craps Table.
Isnt this the reason that American People individually are the largest donors to UNICEF and other Healthcare funds for underprivileged around the world? So why not your own people?
I see Obama as a border-line Democrat (doing one or two things that can be defined as Socialist action, doesn’t make him Socialist or Communist).
Europe has shown how Socialism can effectively work and that is why Norway, Sweden and Ireland always rank on top-3 when it comes to World Happiness Index, USA doesnt come in Top 10, forget about India altogether.
Again, I am not growing in to becoming a Socialist but am not going to oppose OBAMA on this one. Bill O’Reilly is Bigoted person and his views dont make sense, except I take it as entertainment.
What you think?
